Who comes to our meetings?

La Leche League of Sandy Series Meetings are free, open to all interested women (pregnant, nursing, or otherwise), and focus on nursing during the first year. Women with nurslings over a year are welcome and encouraged to come as well. You are invited to bring your baby and other children who need you. Although La Leche League thinks Dads are very important, our meetings are open to women only. So come meet other women in our community and hang out in a comfortable atmosphere where breastfeeding is the norm. Share your mothering experiences, both fun and challenging, and enjoy the company and support of some wonderful people. You are sure to appreciate the mother-to-mother support!! There is always an accredited La Leche League Leader at every meeting.

The Importance of Breastfeeding

At this past Tuesday's meeting we discussed many facts about breastfeeding. Some of these facts included:
Breastfeeding reduces the risk of cancer in mother
Breastfeeding may reduce SIDS in baby
Breastfeeding helps mom lose "baby weight"
Breastfeeding helps lessen sickness and severity of sickness in baby
Breastfeeding creates strong bond between baby and mother
Breastfeeding helps mother read babies cues

Membership

Support your local group and help us keep supporting you! When you purchase your membership to La Leche League of Sandy you'll receive access to our lending library and discounts on items we have for sale. You also help make sure that LLL of Sandy can stay operating. We are a non-profit organization and money goes to group expenses so that we may continue to help moms and babies.

Please give back to our group by purchasing a membership. Memberships are $40 for one year. You can purchase one on-line by clicking here. Make sure to put our group name (Sandy) in the box. You can also pay by check/cash to a Leader at any of our meetings.

Membership is not necessary to receive help from La Leche League, to come to our meetings, or to speak with a Leader.
